I’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to Mexico (without flu I might add!) Apart from a dreadful bout of sea-sickness, it was a wonderful trip. Take a peek at the gallery for a sample of the images.
For the last couple of weeks I’ve been on a fantastic trip with legendary wildlife expert and tour leader Mark Carwardine to Baja California. The purpose of the trip was to spend time with Grey Whales in the San Ignacio lagoon, which was just one of the many highlights.
The set off from San Diego on board the sport fishing boat The Spirit of Adventure. San Diego is a lovely city, though the taxi drivers are a bit odd. I gave them the address of the hotel I was staying at prior to setting sail, and the cabbie asked me to give him directions!! When I said I didn’t know, he gave me his SatNav so that I could program the route!
The Spirit of Adventure is an excellent boat, with a brilliant crew - I cannot praise them highly enough, although I could have done with ear plugs! Oh! And some sick bags, but that’s another story!
For the best part of two weeks, we cruised down the Pacific coast of Baja before rounding the corner into the Sea of Cortez. Along the way we had wonderful encounters with a variety of marine mamals, ranging from massive whales to playful sea lions. The gallery has been updated, so please take a look.
